The name GUMIdeck is an abbreviation of the English name GUMI wood decking. The word GUMI was used because the entire wooden deck is laid on a grid made of synthetic rubber. It is a fastener that is made of a highly durable synthetic rubber used in the automotive industry. Its specially designed shape allows easy and multiple laying without losing its properties even after many years of use. The synthetic rubber, with ideal parameters, is strong enough to ensure a firm bond between the wooden boards and flexible enough for the easiest possible installation.
Terrace GUMI is a natural wood from thermopile. A special and complex thermal modification process significantly improves the natural properties of ash to make it resistant to wind, sun, frost and water.
Unfortunately, no. There is currently only one floor colour available, which gives an exclusive natural look.
Yeah, I'm fine. We currently only supply finishing strips in one length. However, in the case of slats, boards, cutting them to the correct size is not difficult and can be done with the simplest of wood saws.
Yes, currently only the grooved surface boards are on sale.
GUMI boards are made of natural thermo ash wood, so their flammability is the same as any other wood. Do not expose the wooden boards to high temperatures that can cause ignition.
There is no such risk. As a result of the thermal modification process, the wood is stripped of its natural resins, so there is no need to worry.
The process of harvesting, processing and subsequent use of wood is environmentally friendly and is carried out in a rational and balanced manner. This is proven by certificates such as FSC, ITD, which the GUMI terrace owns. The wood processing process itself is chemical-free and completely environmentally friendly.
The lifetime of the floor is more than 25 years with proper and regular oil treatment. In the case of small domestic terraces or outdoor balconies on roofs, where humidity and weather conditions are obviously more demanding, increased care is required. However, we are sure that GUMI wooden parquet will serve you perfectly even in the most demanding conditions and give you great satisfaction for many years of use.
No plastic can replace the luxurious and warm feeling of a real wooden terrace. The advantage of a wooden floor is that after a certain period of time, when the colour of the synthetic plastic has worn off, the impregnating oil will give it the original colour effect again, without, for example, leaving grease stains on the floor after a barbecue. Compared to synthetic materials, natural wood does not overheat and can be walked on barefoot even on hot summer days.
No. GUMI wood decking should be laid on special rubber joints. Do not attach the fastener to the floor in any way, e.g. by screwing into the floor.
There are several ways. The boards can be cut at an angle to the balcony or terrace, ensuring a very good adaptation to the shape of the balcony or terrace. So-called teeth are not formed. In both cases, however, we recommend contacting our customer service department to help you with the best possible installation, application and storage of the boards.
The surface must first be cleaned of all kinds of dirt. In the case of paving stones, it is also a good idea to remove the grass growing between the stones. In the case of a concrete floor, it can be protected from being crushed and dusted with soil or liquid sheeting.
The finishing strips we offer serve to cover the terrace surface with wood more accurately and beautifully in places where it is not possible to place a board of the total width (70 mm). To finish the edges of the terrace, use GUMI joining strips cut in half. This is a very simple and aesthetic solution.

You don't have to fill in all the holes. They should be fitted so that they provide stable support and at the same time a solid connection to the adjacent boards. You do not need to fill all the holes to achieve this effect. The connectors in the packs have been selected and supplied in such a way that the number of connectors is sufficient to fit your entire floor.
Of course. If you need to replace a board, you can do it without dismantling the others.
Useful information can be found in the contacts section. We encourage you to contact our customer service department, who will guide you precisely and help you arrange the installation of your wooden terrace.
Does the terrace/balcony surface have to be level?
The dimensions of balconies and terraces are usually calculated from the edge of the balcony, but there are also situations where we should measure the area on which we can realistically lay the terrace slabs. This is the case, for example, when a large part of the balcony is outside the safety barrier or overhangs the railing.
The GUMI wooden terrace is designed so that its installation is not difficult even for inexperienced users. However, there are situations (bends, stairs, inclines) in which we recommend the help of experts. In such cases, it is certainly best to contact our customer service department to resolve any doubts.
The space under the wooden boards is 10 mm, if the well-protected cable does not exceed its diameter, nothing prevents its execution.
I'm sure it is. The floor has been designed to make installation as easy as possible. Of course, it's a good idea to arm yourself with gloves, but the gradual laying of the planks shouldn't cause any problems.
Sufficient connectors are supplied in the packages to allow the boards to be stably assembled. It is not necessary that the connector be placed in all the holes drilled in the boards. If a situation occurs where connectors are missing, they have probably been placed in too many holes. To avoid removing the socket, we recommend contacting our customer service department to reorder the connector.
Within 2 working days at the latest. We usually ship the floor immediately after receiving payment.
Yes, this delivery is possible. However, you must clearly state this before you place your order or, if applicable, in the comments during the shipping process.
Such a possibility exists. However, this only applies to EU countries where none of our partners are present.
Yes, it's possible. You can pick up GUMI wooden boards in person in Bratislava.
Yeah, I'm fine. GUMI thermal ash boards are designed for outdoor use to withstand all weather conditions. With proper care, they will last for many years without losing their aesthetic appearance.
Certainly not. 1 m2 of GUMI wooden flooring with connectors weighs 14.5 kg and stands firmly on the ground. So you don't have to worry about the wind blowing them away or shifting them.
With proper use and maintenance, the floor has a lifetime of many years and very high durability. This is achieved by using the right materials. Thermo ash wood retains its properties and appearance for more than 25 years in the right conditions and with care.
It all depends on the specific dimensions based on length and width. It is best to consult our customer service in this area.
I'm sure it is. GUMI wood flooring can also be laid on an irregularly shaped terrace or balcony. However, it's a little more complicated than that and if you can't decide, it's a good idea to ask our specialist for help and he will advise you on how many planks you need to cut to create the desired curve or other irregular shape. In this case, we recommend contacting our customer service department.
The GUMI terrace should be laid on a hard, non-deformable surface (preferably flat and level). If there is such a surface in the garden, nothing prevents the laying of the GUMI terrace.
GUMI floors should not be installed on loose, soft and unstable substrates.
The fasteners are very strong and durable, made of a flexible synthetic material that does not damage the insulation layers of the terraces. However, if you are still in doubt, you can always ask our customer service department for a free sample so that you can judge its durability for yourself.
Terraces can be very different. There is no maximum size. For larger sizes not available in our calculator, please contact our customer service department.
Yes. There are no barriers. However, it must be taken into account that the effect of chlorinated water can adversely affect the colour of the boards.

We recommend that the boards are oiled after the summer season and after the winter season (if there is snow on them). This keeps the surface of the boards in very good condition and at the same time ensures a fresh and intense colour of the terrace.
Terrace boards made of thermo ash are adapted for use in outdoor conditions. A proper oil treatment of the terrace before the winter season should be sufficient. The patio can be additionally covered with various types of snow protection materials, but it should be kept in mind that the boards can get wet if they do not have an air supply.
Anyone that is environmentally friendly is designed for wood and for exterior use. If the oil contains a UV filter, it will allow for better protection of the color of the boards.
The maintenance of wooden boards is really not difficult. In most cases it is enough to wash the surface of the patio with water and a brush, then after drying apply a new layer of oil preferably with a wide bristle brush designed for wooden surfaces. If the boards have not been oiled for a long time (more than 1 season), and the surface is covered with a clearly visible dark grey patina, we use a cleaner to remove excess oil from the wood using available products. Flügger's proven oils are available in our online shop. The wood concentrate effectively cleans the old oil from the surface of the boards together with a wood neutralizing agent.
Of course, some kind of discolouration may occur, associated with excessive moisture under the surface of the leaves and uneven exposure to sunlight on the terrace. Avoid long-term storage of wet material directly on the terrace surface. It can affect not only the boards themselves but also the oil with which they have been protected.
You can simply sweep and wash the thermo ash wood with water. Avoid using a hard brush, which can scratch the boards and the oil that coats them.
With a conventional floor, which is fixed with screws, you would try to pull out the gold chain in vain. With GUMI flooring it is very easy. Simply remove the desired plates from the connectors and pull out the sunken object or vacuum out the sunken dirt.
If possible, we recommend removing the snow on the boards to keep the oiled surface of the boards in better condition. However, we are not referring to traditional snow removal with sharp blades, which could easily damage the boards.
Cold water can cause the plates to deteriorate under the influence of heat and subsequent cold water. In such cases, we recommend using lukewarm water.
For the GUMI exterior boards, we chose a natural brown as the starting colour, most reminiscent of fresh ash and luxurious exotic wood. However, it is a colour that can be repainted with a patio oil in a different colour after a certain period of time. Some of our customers have preferred to leave their floors untreated with oil and have achieved a patina effect.
The GUMI terrace is a series of innovative solutions and a completely new way of wooden terraces.
